Position Description

Under supervision of senior scientific staff, the intern will engage in a cutting-edge, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) project focused on identification of RNA biomarkers from biological specimens. The successful candidate will not only perform experiments at the bench, they will also learn how to plan their experiments as well as analyze and interpret their data. The successful candidate should possess a basic knowledge of scientific laboratory practices. In addition, the successful candidate should have strong organizational skills and be able to both accurately record and communicate their results. The internship is expected to run from May through August

Position Requirements

  • Pursing a BS degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology or related field.
  • Familiarity with routine scientific laboratory practices.
  • Proficiently use Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in product and application development is not a requirement.

Personal Requirements

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem solving, timeline management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, and solid communication skills including oral, written and presentation techniques.
