GENERAL SUMMARY AND SCOPE
Under the supervision of the Director of Cardiac & Pulmonary Services or other Licensed Respiratory Care Professional, and in strict accordance with Ohio law and the rules and regulations of the Ohio Respiratory Care Board, the Limited Permit Holder performs respiratory care as determined by the Director and approved by the accredited training facility.

ESSENTIAL TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to those duties specified under Section 4761 of The Ohio Revised Code as administered by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board and approved by the Medical Director of Respiratory Services for Firelands Regional Medical Center:
Performs only those respiratory care procedures authorized by the training institution and only with the approval of the Director, Cardiac & Pulmonary Services.
Maintains ongoing communication between respiratory care professionals, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to foster continuity of care.
Assures communication between shifts.
Participates in physician and therapist rounds regarding patient care issues and clinical practice.
Meets with the Director of Cardiac & Pulmonary Services or other Licensed Respiratory Care Professional at mid-shift to discuss patient progress and concur with recommended adjustments to treatment regimen.
OTHER TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in department performance improvement activities as assigned and attends required training.
Demonstrates service excellence and ACE.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ohio limited permit holder with an Associates Degree in Respiratory Care Technology.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to establish a friendly and cooperative relationship with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Analytical ability to evaluate patient care technique, service, and equipment.
Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required.
Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of Medical Center emergency codes.
Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and to utilize proper personal protective equipment. Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
Successful completion of a ninety (90) day probationary period.
The team member understands expectations and acts to assure full compliance with all Medical Center policies and procedures as well as all federal, state, and local regulations. This requirement includes reporting as directed by policy non-compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.

All workforce members will participate in relevant training and will seek guidance and support when necessary to address HIPAA-related issues and resolve questions about the standards and policies. This requirement includes performance to assure the highest standards of confidentiality for employee and patient records and sensitive work-related information. The team member understands the principles of confidentiality associated with Medical Center employee and patient records and performs within the highest standards of care to ensure these records remain confidential at all times.
