The Global Corporate Compliance department of Xilinx is looking for a motivated and talented law student to work on its compliance and privacy programs as a Summer Intern.
In addition to gaining practical experience about compliance, you will have the opportunity to work on privacy, one of the newest and sought-after areas of law.
You will be challenged to apply your knowledge for resolving practical issues and streamlining operations.

  • Review and understand global regulatory frameworks applicable to public companies.

  • Review and understand global privacy laws and frameworks, especially the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  • Review documentation, processes, policies, and business practices to assess CCPA readiness and to identify significant privacy compliance gaps.

  • Understand key differences between the requirements of the CCPA and the GDPR to help business teams comply with the CCPA.

  • Work on operational aspects of the compliance program. This involves reviewing and updating existing policies, plans, and standard operating procedures, and auditing business practices for compliance with adopted standards.

  • Help the compliance team implement a portal for employees to address compliance questions and issues.
  • Scope various types of compliance requests to ensure ease of use and write knowledge base articles that make complex topics accessible to employees.


  • 2L or 3L law student pursuing a law degree at an accredited university with excellent GPA.

  • Strong interest and relevant coursework in corporate and privacy law.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good judgment, professionalism, and discretion when dealing with sensitive information.

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical ability.

  • Good grasp of web technologies and enterprise systems.

  • Prior experience with operations and organizational processes strongly preferred.

  • Good understanding of compliance requirements for public companies preferred.
