Opportunity for a Graduate Flood Risk Modeller to join our growing Flood Risk team in Summer/Autumn 2020, working out of our Head Offices in Almondsbury (BS32 4DF).

Our highly specialist and experienced team helps clients to unlock development potential by appraising, managing and reducing flood risk.

Our application of cutting-edge ISIS/TUFLOW modelling technology in combination with a range of geographic information system (GIS) tools enables us to significantly refine site-specific flood zones. It also helps ensure we can manage and mitigate impacts further afield.

The early engagement of our team in the development process is the key to success. Through the application of these modelling techniques, we work with developers to tackle flood risk issues and explore the implications and costs of proposed mitigation measures. This is critical to ensure development is appropriate to the site and to maximise the likelihood of approval.

Hydrock is an independently owned multidisciplinary consultancy, of circa 500 staff, operating out of 17 offices. It is one of The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For and a champion of well-being (note our recent Health and Wellbeing Leader of the Year award at the NCE100). We are currently growing at 10% per annum. We believe part of our success is looking after our people and our values help create a unique, dynamic, working environment. Our values include having fun, giving something back and our families coming first- check out all 10 here (and don’t miss the Challenge Day video on the same page!).

Our Head Office site is pretty special, with over 100 of us working out of converted historic buildings, in over 100 acres of the great outdoors. Lunchtimes provide the opportunity for running, cycling, taking a walk, playing football/rugby/rounders and there are at least two organised ‘work outs’ each week. There are good options for lunch out – country pubs, farm shop, garden centre and The Mall Cribbs Causeway is only a five-minute drive away. We have plenty of car parking spaces and a bike shed and showers are available for cyclists/runners.

The attributes we expect you to bring to the role and company:
