This Technician position will work to provide general maintenance for the Universityâs Student Apartment facilities with some level of knowledge, abilities, and experience in all aspects of general apartment maintenance as well as carpentry, and painting skills.
Combination of 5 years of experience and training that would provide the required experience and abilities in the qualifications listed.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Minimum of three to five years experience in all aspects of apartment maintenance, apartment make ready operations, facilities maintenance, building construction, remodeling work, or any combination of these.
Certification or completion of workshops in these areas is helpful.
Experience in common maintenance items such as drywall repair, wood working, HVAC and electrical maintenance, and other light construction.
Self motivated, a positive attitude, ability to work hard, and a customer service attitude.
High School diploma or GED.
Must be able to bend, walk, lift, carry, push, and handle equipment, supplies and machinery exceeding seventy five (75) pounds.
Ability to pass appropriate physical and background check.
Valid Oklahoma Drivers License
Perform technical services in support of the physical plant program areas as well as provide support for all campus activities such as OMA reunion, commencement, and other special events throughout the year.
Perform and/or supervise the daily tasks necessary to complete all building maintenance for the Universityâs Student Apartments. This includes, but is not limited to general maintenance duties, drywall, painting,electrical and HVAC systems and other maintenance duties as assigned.
Provide general maintenance service as requested via the departmentâs work order system.
Participate actively in the care and maintenance as well as the operation of machinery, tools and equipment required to perform all assigned responsibilities.
Conduct all work in a safe manner using appropriate safety equipment.
Carry an after-hours pager or cell phone for maintenance or other building related emergency calls in the Student Apartment complex.
Perform other duties as assigned.
